Fuel For the Long Haul: Fruits & Veggies
“Eat your Vegetables...”
Most of us have heard it since childhood - but do we really understand why?
Fruits and vegetables provide much more than something colorful on the side of your plate. They deliver fiber, vitamins, minerals, water, and phytonutrients that support digestion, immunity, heart health, cellular function, and overall health.
And you don't need a complicated diet to get more of them:
Add berries to breakfast,
grab fruit with your lunch,
throw vegetables into your eggs,
add a side salad, or
fill more of your dinner plate with vegetables.
Fresh, frozen, canned, or cooked can all have a place. Instead of focusing on perfection, look for simple opportunities to add nourishment to what you're already eating.
Growth isn't always about removing something bad; sometimes it's about intentionally adding more of what helps you thrive.
What could you add this week that makes your whole system healthier?
CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK:
Eat those beautiful fruits and veggies!
Add One: Add a fruit or vegetable to a meal that normally doesn't have one.
Fill Your Plate: Work toward making fruits and vegetables a significant portion of your meals.
Keep It Convenient: Put easy options - fresh, frozen, or canned - where you can actually grab and use them.
