Fuel For the Long Haul: Build Your Plate
There’s nothing like a well-balanced meal!
We've spent the last few weeks breaking down the different pieces of your nutrition - but what does it actually look like when you put them on a plate?
Healthy eating doesn't have to mean weighing every bite or following a complicated diet. Start by building balanced meals with protein, quality carbohydrates, healthy fats, and plenty of fruits and vegetables.
Each plays a different role, but together they provide the nutrients and energy your body needs to function well.
Think about your plate before you eat: What's my protein? Where are my fruits or vegetables? What's providing my energy? Where are my healthy fats? Your portions and needs will vary based on your body, activity level, goals, and season of life, but this simple check can help you become more intentional without making eating overwhelming.
That's what this entire quarter has been about: fueling yourself well enough to sustain the life you're called to live. We've hydrated, gotten outside, moved more, strengthened relationships, built rhythms, and learned how to fuel our bodies. Now it's time to put that fuel to work.
CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK:
Put It All Together!
Build It: Create one meal each day with protein, produce, quality carbohydrates, and healthy fat.
Look Before You Eat: Take five seconds to check your plate. What's there - and what's missing?
Keep It Simple: Choose one balanced meal you enjoy and make it an easy go-to for busy days.
