Core Stability Before Strength: Why Posture and Joint Control Prevent Breakdown.

Mobility restores range.

Stability controls it.

Without core stability and joint control, adding load only amplifies dysfunction and lessens effective use of strength, power, and endurance.

Weak stabilizers force larger muscles to compensate, and create inefficient movement patterns.

This can lead to fatigue, poor posture, and bodily injury.

True strength starts with control.

These are the kinds of internal elements to focus on to help you keep doing a good job or improve -

serving with excellence while you are at work, when you are at home, and in any other area of life.

Your core is the center of your strength, your center of gravity - think of it as your own personal tree trunk.

If the trunk is weak, the natural dynamics of life will, before long, cause it to topple over.

We will build a strong tree, rooted and grounded, able to sustain long life.

CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK:

Try these Core-Stabilization Exercises this week:

  • Two-Leg Floor Bridge: Lay on back, knees bent, feet flat shoulder-width apart. Tuck hips, lift only pelvis toward ceiling. Slowly lower your lower back then your glutes.

    • Repeat: 5 rounds of 10 reps.

    • Modification: Less reps

    • Squeeze the glutes, brace your core!

  • Forearm Planks: Lie face down, feet together forearms on ground. Lift entire body off ground until you make a straight line from head to toe. Hold it!

    • Repeat: 5 rounds of 20 seconds

    • Modification: drop to your knees, less hold time

    • Tuck your hips, squeeze the glutes, brace your core!

REFLECTION:

  • How strong is your core today?

  • Are you willing to challenge yourself this week, working towards a stronger core?

  • What is one healthy action you are committed to doing this week to invest in a healthier you?
