Summer is one of the best times to enjoy fresh, local produce while supporting your neighborhood farmers and small businesses.
But have you ever wondered why we're encouraged to eat such a variety of fruits and veggies?
Why can't we just eat the same healthy foods every day?

The answer is simple: your body - and especially your gut - thrives on variety.
Different fruits and veggies provide different vitamins, minerals, fiber, phytonutrients, and pre-, pro-, and postbiotics that nourish your gut microbiome.
They support everything from digestion and immunity to energy and overall health. The more diverse your plate, the more resilient your gut can become.
One of the beautiful things about seasonal eating is that nature naturally provides that variety throughout the year.
As different fruits and veggies come into season, we have the opportunity to fuel our bodies with exactly what each season has to offer.
